“Hardcore Miserable” and “Out the Bed” are about battling insecurity in a relationship and coming to terms with a breakup.

The double-single follows three singles in 2020, including his first hit “Never Alone”. Quick to rise in the ranks of the exciting hyperpop scene in music right now, experimental pop artist Charli XCX added “Never Alone” to her official Beats by Dr. Dre playlist on Apple Music. It’s Markinson’s second era, of sorts, after he began by building a follower base on Vine by posting covers and original music.
Markinson also finds inspiration from the musings of Troye Sivan, The 1975, and underground gay club music.
